Historical restoration in architecture can create a sense of identity and belonging in our New Orleans community. We can protect and preserve our history and the evolution of our society thus far. While reconstructing exterior and interior layouts may be necessary to provide a home fit for one’s needs, I can help to maintain the building’s local and cultural significance through historical renovations. Repurposing local materials and architectural components is a green solution I strive to provide in order to revitalize one's aesthetic with less significant contributions to the waste typically generated through restoration and new construction.
I am able identify, source and restore key architectural elements, such a as: doors, windows, hardware, tile, light fixtures, lumber/hardwood, furniture, interior and exterior historic paint color selections using color theory.
As an interior designer I have knowledge in floor planning and layout conforming to the International Residential Code (IRC 2021), furniture restoration, electrical modernization of lighting fixtures, and personalized interior decorating. I am able to create a personalized and practical solution for style without sacrificing functionality.
